Lily's garden
My final project at Shenkar in the Textile Design Department was a textile installation of a knitted garden. The garden includes fabrics knitted on an industrial machine, decorated with embroidery and hand-knitted elements.
The traditional crafts that I was exposed to from my grandmother Lili, combined with innovative technologies and created a personal design language.
The knitted garden installation was created to create a space for relaxation and grounding.
It also serves as a place for meeting, play, exploration, and personal and material interactions with the designed environment, with people, and with oneself.
The garden is a place to stop and simply be, take a deep breath, ground yourself, and practice being present in the moment.
